Otis is now the costliest EPac hurricane on record, with estimated damages greater or equal to $11.5 billion (U.S). This surpasses Manuel of 2013 by >$7.3 billion dollars. Just wow.
Gonna be hard to beat that for a while (hopefully).

Haha sorry I’m late but yeah, Lorenzo 2019 is right!
Lee carried
List 3 was the first season I tracked, which was 2017. For what Poxy said about the S, T, V, and W names, I agree with him. I just like the sound of the name “Wilma” lmao. Although I would wish to see Valerie and William some day.
The list is very nostalgic for me and I’m happy it came again in 2023.
Nate is the costliest disaster in Costa Rican history, including 46 deaths to the country, and caused additional flooding to Central America. $737 million U.S dollars is actually a lot in Costa Rica although in the U.S it might not seem much. Keep in mind that countries can also request retirement if the storm's impact was significant to their country, Although Nate was HIGHLY inferior to Harvey, Irma, and Maria, it's impacts was still important to Costa Rica and was therefore retired.
You're correct!
No cause I knew this was Laura because I used this picture in one of my articles 😭😭
1st:
Winner: Juanjose134
2nd:
Note: I’m busy with school so it might take me a bit to reach back or give hints.
A new TD formed in the EPac. Here’s the track
What do you think?
Honestly after Otis idk what to say 😭😭
October be really giving rn
Yeah I think October was more active 💀💀
Thank god
Kinda interested how 2023 would go for both sides, especially the EPac
Its now 23-21
The 2023 Pacific Hurricane Season has already been a record breaking one with
Dora- traveled across all 3 pacific basins, just like it’s 1999 counterpart (Dora the explorer), and broke the record for the longest time spent at category 4 intensity (thanks Poxy)
Hilary- the first tropical cyclone to make landfall in California since 1939
Jova- First C5 of the season and intensified at a rate that can only rival other historic cyclones, and another one in its basin
Lidia- an extremely strong hurricane that would intensify to a category 4 and make landfall on Mexico, but would get overshadowed by another storm
Otis (obviously)- Defied predictions that predict it peaking as a Category 1 hurricane, intensifying at a rate, winds going from 50 mph to 160 mph in 24 hours, a rate only 10 mph lower than Patricia, and is the strongest EPac hurricane to make landfall, at 165 mph, 15 mph more than Patricia, and in an astoundingly southern place too
The month of October had 4 Mexico landfalls (thanks Technical), A C4 (Lidia), A TS (Max), A C1 (Norma), and a C5 (Otis) making October of 2023 the most interesting month that I’ve tracked. September 2020 comes close.
Feel free to leave your thoughts down below! (And tell me if I missed any storms or other things)
This aged well
I think 2022 Earl has a resemblance to 2010 Earl. How interesting!
Well, technically it was most the Greek alphabet storms that did some damage during their landfalls, so it really doesn’t count for List 6 (besides Laura, even though they were the costliest, and Sally).
