Flossie has finally developed an eye visible from satellite imagery (via Blue Marble?) . It is expected to become a Category 2 storm as it moves parallel to the Southwestern coast of Mexico and the Baja California coast, where it should be a remnant low at that time.
Given that this system (as a remnant low) will drift westward after approaching Baja California, it is likely that Northwestern Mexico and Southwestern United States will get limited moisture, and this will not help since if I recall correctly, these regions are in a severe drought.
