Are rip currents a direct form of tropical cyclone casualty or indirect? I feel like they're direct, but I'm not sure.

I was looking at the "2025 Pacific Typhoon Season" article on Wikipedia and Tropical Depression Crising (Still a TD as of 7/16) and it said it was a "Monsoon depression" I've never seen this before. Does anyone know if this is a error or something, because I don't.

Has a tropical cyclone in the Eastern Pacific region ever fell apart due to its high wind speed (not counting the mid-latitude regions, only tropical)?

Unfortunately, it appears that a significant member of the HHW community has abruptly left forever. @Speculoos11 's (I'm sure some of older members on this wiki remember the that name) last post was on April 21st, 2025, and hasn't responded on discussions or on their message wall since. The much hyped-up HypoExoEarth: Virelia revival which we were promised would arrive in May never arrived due to their sudden disappearance, and many discussions about IRL TCs became emptier.

I do hope @Speculoos11 returns to the wiki one day... :(
