The 1897 Finolian Ocean hurricane season was a below-average season, featuring only 6 tropical storms. Despite this, the second storm of the season, Hurricane Two, became the strongest and most intense Finolian Ocean hurricane ever recorded, attaining winds of at least 225 mph and a pressure of 859 mb or less. It was the only Category 7 hurricane ever on record, and the strongest tropical cyclone worldwide.
