The following names were used for systems that attained at least tropical storm intensity within the Atlantic basin in the year 1991. This is the same list used for the 1985 season. Names that were not assigned are marked in gray.

Retirement[]
In The Spring of 1992, the World Meteorological Organization retired the names Claudette, Elena and Frederic. They will never again be used for an Atlantic hurricane. They were replaced by Cassie, Erika and Fabian for the 1997 season respectively.
