The 2017 Pacific Hurricane Season was the third-most active Pacific hurricane season ever recorded, with 23 storms, 14 hurricanes, and 7 major hurricanes forming throughout the year. The season began with Hurricane Adrian on May 20, and ended with Hurricane Wiley on December 8.
The season was influenced by a weak el nino event that formed midway through the season, which produced favorable conditions across the basin. This almost allowed the East Pacific to surpass the West Pacific in activity this year.
The following names were used to name storms that formed in the northeastern Pacific Ocean during 2017. The names not retired from this list will be used again in the 2023 season. This is the same list used in the 2011 season.
