The 2020 Atlantic hurricane season is a current event in meteorology. On average, an Atlantic hurricane season runs from 1 June to 30 November, though the formation of tropical cyclones can take place at any time in the year, as demonstrated by Tropical Storm Arthur.

The first system of the season, Potential Tropical Cyclone One, formed off the Yucatan Peninsula on May 11, marking the fifth consecutive time the season had started before time. The storm rapidly strengthened into Tropical Storm Arthur.
