The 2020 Pacific hurricane season was an above average season that produced approximately 18 named storms, with 11 of them becoming hurricanes, and 5 of them becoming major hurricanes. The season officially began on May 15, 2020, and ended on November 30, 2020. These dates historically describe the period each year when most tropical cyclones form in the East Pacific basin. The first system of the season, Amanda, formed on May 14, just prior to the official start of the hurricane season. while the final storm of the season, Rachel, dissipated on December 9, a few days after the end of the season.

The following names were used for named storms that formed in the northeastern Pacific ocean in 2020. The names not retired from this list were used again in the 2026 season. This is the same list used for the 2014 season, with the exceptions of Odalys, which replaced Odille. Names that were not assigned are marked in gray.

For storms that form in the Central Pacific Hurricane Center's area of responsibility, encompassing the area between 140Ā°W and the International Date Line, all names are used in a series of four rotating lists.[79] The next four names slated for use are shown below. One name, Hone, was used.

Retirement

In April 2021, the World Meteorological Organization retired the name Karina from its rotating name list due to the amounts of damages and deaths the storm caused. It was replaced with Khloe for the 2026 season.
