The 2022 Finolian Ocean hurricane season was an event in the annual development of tropical cyclones in the Finolian Ocean. The bounds of the hurricane season in the Finolian Ocean begin on June 1 and end on November 30. Tropical or subtropical cyclogenesis can happen outside of these bounds, though, as proven by Tropical Depression One, which formed on May 20. The 2022 season was the third in a row to feature tropical activity before the standard bounds of the hurricane season. An unusual amount of major hurricanes developed throughout the season; with a total of 6 major hurricanes, the 2022 season has maintained the highest major hurricane to hurricane ratio since records began, as well as one of the highest number of major hurricanes on record overall. Producing 18 tropical depressions, 17 tropical storms, 7 hurricanes, and 6 major hurricanes, the season has been near-average in most regards except for major hurricanes. The strongest storm of the year, Paden, was a high-end Category 4 hurricane that developed late in the season and did not affect land. Elise was the deadliest and costliest storm of the season, producing upwards of ARG$9 billion in damage and killing 23 people.
