The Atlantic hurricane season is the period in a given year when the majority of tropical and subtropical cyclones form in the Atlantic Ocean. The conventional Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, with its climatological peak running from late August to early September. However, tropical cyclones have been proven to form outside of the seasonal boundaries.

In the real world, the 2020 Atlantic hurricane season remains the most active season on record, while the 1914 season was the least active season. The average hurricane season from 1991 to 2020 consists of 14 named storms, seven hurricanes, and three major hurricanes. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) regularly issues advisories on each storm, with regular tropical weather outlooks being issued throughout the season.
