Autopatrolled users (also called autopatrollers or APs) are users trusted enough to have their edits automatically marked as patrolled. This means their edits will be automatically marked as good faith and won't need to be reviewed by an administration member.
Some autopatrollers also have code editor user rights and are appropriately called code editors. Code editors can edit all pages within the MediaWiki namespace (i.e. the CSS pages, the JS pages, and user tags). The code editor user right is only given to trustworthy users who have experience with CSS and/or JS.
How to be autopatroller?[]
Autopatrollers are usually active users on the wiki who edit at least somewhat frequently and are considered trusted enough by the administration to have their edits marked as patrolled. Additionally, most users promoted have been on the wiki for at least three (3) months and have at least 400 mainspace edits.
Activity is a major factor when promoting someone to autopatroller, as only users who are somewhat active can receive this user right. However, there are other factors, including maturity and punishments, that can prevent active wiki users from being promoted. Users that exhibited immature behavior have less chances of being promoted than other users. The same applies for users who have recently received punishments (i.e. reminders, warnings, final warnings, and blocks); they are less likely to be promoted.
When an autopatrolled user is promoted to chat moderator, rollback, or both, they keep the autopatroller role. Junior administrators and above are not given the role, as these user groups have the autopatrol permissions embedded. When a user is promoted to code editor, they are also given the autopatroller user group.
