Hurricane Chandra was the last of four preseason storms and the first of twenty four hurricanes (both record highs) in the 2055 Atlantic hurricanes season. Chandra formed in the Western Caribbean while Southwest of Cuba on May 28. Gradual intensification led to the naming of the storm early on May 29. Chandra would continue strengthening up until it's eventual landfall as a strong tropical storm. Before this, Chandra would peak as a minimal Category 1 hurricane of 75 mph (120 km/h) and 988 mbar. Steady weakening would occur as it climbed the United States before degenerating into a remnant low on June 3. Chandra would meet it's demise the next day at the hands of a frontal system while over Southeastern Canada after being responsible for 2 fatalities and $173.5 million (2055 USD) in damages.
