How does Hurricane Idol work?
In Hurricane Idol, names that have or will be used to name hurricanes are put into a competition based on what the judges and the other users of Hypothetical Hurricanes Wiki decide (since Season 9, however, names that are not use to name hurricanes, such as Tanya, Steenee and Sawo, are being used). Once the competition is complete, the last name that stands out will be crowned the winner of the competition and the most popular hurricane name of the year.
Blocked users will have their names disqualified, but will be able to participate in future seasons if the user is unblocked. Users must compete in one account only. Users who try to participate in Hurricane Idol with alts or sockpuppets will get their names disqualified, or even removed from the season if the user is a judge/co-host/host.

Roy has been an active user since February 2018 and is currently a junior administrator of Hypothetical Hurricanes Wiki since September 2018. He has participated in two Hurricane Idol seasons in the past, the second of which he was a judge on. This is the first time Roy is hosting a Hurricane Idol season, and is very excited to work with the co-host, judges, and the users to choosing the best name of this season! Cooper has been an active user since August 2017, and has served the Hypothetical Hurricanes Wiki as an administrator for nearly a year. He was the Head Judge for Hurricane Idol Season 13, and is now co-hosting with Roy for Season 14. Honored to serve as a co-host for the first time, Cooper wishes the best of luck to all participants, and may the best name win!

SM has been an active user since September 2015, and has served as a bureaucrat of the Hypothetical Hurricanes Wiki since June 2016. He has participated in Hurricane Idol since Season 8, being host of Season 10 and co-host of Season 9 and Season 12. He is excited to participate as a head judge for the first time, and wishes good luck to all participants!

Farm River is currently an administrator of this wiki, active since November 2016. He has participated in Hurricane Idol since Season 11, being a judge of Season 12 and a host of Season 13. It is his third time to judge in this semi-yearly contest, and he is very excited to do so! Best of luck on all participants, and shall the best name will win!

Money Hurricane has been a longtime contributor on HHW, having joined the wiki way back in May of 2016. He has been a bureaucrat for over 2 years, and has been involved with Hurricane Idol since Season 10. He later co-hosted Season 11 and hosted Season 12, and was a judge in Season 13. Now, he is very happy to return for the 5th time as a member of the Panel of Judges for Season 14! He wishes good luck to all the users who entered the record-setting 160 names for the competition, because out of all those names, only one will be a winner!

KingLucarius is a current Junior Administrator, editing on the wiki since April 2018. He has participated in Hurricane Idol 13 and this is his first time as a Judge, and is very excited to be doing so. He also wishes every participant the best of Luck!

| Akio has been constantly contributing to the wiki since August 2016, and has been a bureaucrat since October 2017. He has been interested in tropical cyclones since November 2012 and has been actively tracking since June 2013. Akio previously hosted Season 11 and judged Season 13 of Hurricane Idol, and is the current defending champion. Will Akio be able to defend his title, or will another user step up and claim it? May the best name win!

MESSAGE FROM THE HOST
I would like to take this time to thank every user that participated in this competition, which has seen a recorded 160 names being submitted by 32 users on early March. I greatly enjoyed hosting this season with Cooper, as well as judging the names with the judges, whom I'm sure also enjoyed judging this season. Lastly, I would also thank the community for making this season and Hurricane Idol as a whole a fun and enjoyable competition, which has been filled with surprises and upsets. The next season will start on September 1, 2019, which will be hosted by this season's co-host, Cooper7579, and I'm positive that he will do a great job as the host for Season 15.
