In Hurricane Idol, names that have or will be used to name hurricanes are put into a contest based on what the judges and the other users of Hypothetical Hurricanes Wiki decide. However, since Season 9, names that have not been used to name tropical cyclones have been submitted. Once the contest is complete, the last name that stands out will be crowned the winner of the contest and the most popular hurricane name of the year.
Blocked users will have their names disqualified, but will be able to participate in future seasons if the user is unblocked. If you are blocked while the name submissions are ongoing, the user will be automatically eliminated and their names disqualified.
Users must compete in one account only. If you try to participate in Hurricane Idol with alternate accounts or sockpuppets, you will get your names disqualified, and you may be removed from your position if you are a designer, moderator, judge, head judge, co-host, or host. You may also be excluded from participating in future seasons of Hurricane Idol.
The name submissions period will start on February 15 and end on February 21. The names can be submitted on this page's comment section, this forum post or on the official Hurricane Idol Discord server. Names submitted after this date will not be accepted.

FCX has been on the wiki actively since 2019, serving in several staff positions since then, most recently as a Discord moderator as of September 2022. Having been a designer every season since Season 15, as well as being a judge in Season 18, leading the season is a step up that he will be ensuring runs as smooth as can be. He would wish luck to the contestants but is too busy contemplating his college life decisions.
Sandy has been in HHW since January 2019, formerly being a junior moderator around three years ago and currently as a chat moderator since last November. In Hurricane Idol, he has previous experience as a co-host in Season 18 and previously served as a judge in Seasons 17 and 19. He wishes the best of luck to the participants this season!
Fabian joined HHW in 2020, serving staff in early 2022 and as a Chat Moderator December 7, 2022 - present. Fabian has been a judge since Season 21, this is his very first time being a head judge. He wishes the participants good luck in this season!! <3
Sierra first joined the wiki in 2019, but only became permanently active in 2020, and was an autopatroller from July to October 2022. She previously served as a designer in Season 21, and would like to wish luck to the contestants that participate in this upcoming season!
A member of the wiki since 2017, Alex (they/them) has been a staff member since 2021 and the leader of the wiki since 2022. They previously served as the host of Season 20 and the head judge in Season 21. Now returning as a judge, they wish all participants luck this season!
