Disclaimer: The content on this wiki is fictional and NOT a resource for real tropical cyclones. NONE of this wiki's content should be taken as a real indication of inclement weather.
In Hurricane Idol, names that have or will be used to name hurricanes are put into a contest based on what the judges and the other users of Hypothetical Hurricanes Wiki decide. However, since Season 9, names that have not been used to name tropical cyclones have been submitted. Once the contest is complete, the last name that stands out will be crowned the winner of the contest and the most popular hurricane name of the year.
Blocked users will have their names disqualified, but will be able to participate in future seasons if the user is unblocked. If you are blocked while the name submissions are ongoing, the user will be automatically eliminated and their names disqualified.
Users must compete in one account only. If you try to participate in Hurricane Idol with alternate accounts or sockpuppets, you will get your names disqualified, and you may be removed from your position if you are a designer, moderator, judge, head judge, co-host, or host. You may also be excluded from participating in future seasons of Hurricane Idol.
The name submissions period began September 3 and will last until 11:59pm UTC on Saturday, September 7. The names can be submitted on this page's comment section, the discussions board post, or on the official Hurricane Idol Discord server. Names submitted after the submission period will not be accepted.

Oil is a bureaucrat on HHW and has been a member of the wiki since April 2022, and he has previously served as a judge in Seasons 22 and 23, and head judge and later co-host in Season 24. He has also served as a designer in Season 21 and is excited to return as Hurricane Idol's host for the upcoming season. He wishes the best of luck to all of the participants and their names in this season!
FCX has been a long-time member of the wiki, having been on for nearly 6 years, and served as the host of Season 22. This is his first time judging since season 18, so it is a nice change of pace to be back. Just like in Season 22, he is still contemplating his life choices now that Hone has finally happened.
Shep has been a member of the wiki for quite a while, almost 3 years now, and has worked on loads of hypos in tha ttime. This is his first time judging ever, and is excited to start judging. He also wishes everyone good luck to all the people who submitted names this season.
An administrator of the wiki, SM comes back to judging Hurricane Idol after a 2-season stint as moderator. Previously, he was the host of Seasons 10 and 17, co-host of seasons 12, 15, 20 and 21, and has participated in virtually every season since season 9. He's excited to be judging again, and is wishing everyone in the competition good luck!
As many of you can tell, this hasn't been the fastest season ever. Juggling your junior year of high school and other important things life will send you in a spiral. I would like to thank Lexy and Oil for leading the season before me. I believe they both deserve the applaud. I would like to thank my co-host, Nxsa, for helping me lead. Aswell as my Head Judge, Shep! who both did a good job. I would like to also thank the judges Joel, SM, FCX, and Oil for judging. The designers, FCX, Cade, and Inferno for the awesome designs, and the moderator, Lucarius, who helped moderate the server.
I hope the HI hosts in the future will look back at this season and make sure it never happens again.
