Hypothetical Hurricanes Wiki
History
This page documents an official Hypothetical Hurricanes Wiki policy.
It describes a widely accepted standard that all editors should follow. Changes made to it should reflect consensus.

In order to enforce its commitment to transparency, the Hypothetical Hurricanes Wiki administration will now be declassifying, per request, old documents related to confidential administrative affairs that are at least one-year-old. Policies for this declassification requests are listed below:

Policies[]

  • Requests for information may be submitted through message walls, the designated #reports channel on the community chat, or through direct messaging on Discord.
  • Requests for information that's less than a year old, or unrelated to administrative affairs, will be rejected, as highlighted above. If the information requested is already public, users will be redirected to the place where the information is held.
  • These requests should be specific in nature and clearly state the information being sought. For example, a request stating "I am requesting the declassification of a discussion in #administration that took place on October 9, 2018" would be more likely to be accepted than a request for "the latest HHW gossip".
  • Certain information may be withheld for reasons of privacy, security, or legal considerations. For example, personal information such as face reveals, addresses, and names of individuals who do not wish to have their information shared will be redacted and not made available to the user.
  • Approved requests may be subject to delay depending on the nature of the request and the amount of data gathered by the moderators.
  • Requests will be reviewed by one of the administrators, who will determine the relevance and appropriateness of the information being sought, taking into consideration the potential impact of releasing such information and making a decision based on the best interests of the community.
    • If the request is accepted, a document containing the declassified content will be sent to the user, which may be posted on a designated page or subpage.
    • If the request is declined, the information will remain classified. Users may appeal the decision by clearly outlining the reasons for their appeal, and the administration will make a final decision.
